It was a public holiday on Thursdays and the whole Sales & Marketing team together with their family gathered at my place for Nasi Lemak lunch. Dottie cooked her signature rendang chicken and Wendy made the flavoured rice from her late mum's recipe. Hmm....yummy. Everyone pig out and we all had some fun. Also, to top it all, Jimmy was also in town.

It was another gathering with Sharon and Olivia on Tuesday. Olivia has grown again, I almost couldn't recognised her. Guess what ? She has also grown smarter as she does not want Auntie Soo Theng to carry her anymore. I just love to carry babies cause they smell so good.....

Nan's Farewell Gathering

As always, we were all very busy especially Bro Dennis and Angeline at their workplace cause it's a resort and it's year end but we managed to find some time to meet and gather on the 9th evening for another celebration. A not so happy one though...it's Nan's farewell.

She has only about a week with us before she says "tata". She will be taking up new challenges in Doha, Qatar. We went to Mizi for a sumptuous dinner and went to G Spot for some drinking after that.

Ting in Town !!

The Diva was here for the weekend. We were asked to roll out the red carpets, chill the champagne and bring out the pom pom girls.....This is how dramatic Ting is all the time.

Anyway, it was nice of him to de-tour to Penang on his home leave to Singapore from Hong Kong. We had so much fun together. We had loads of Penang hawker food ( must have for Ting), went drinking at night spots and sang our hearts out at Red Box Karaoke till the wee hours of the morning. I was a little lucky because I happened to be on leave over that weekend, my sis Estee and my sweet little nephew was in town too. So, no need to wake up early in the morning to go to work *wink*.

Happy Birthday Christene !!

It's Christene's Birthday tomorrow and I surprised her with a Baked Cheese Cake this afternoon at her office. She was very happy and I guess the whole office was too because everyone got a share of the cake.

She later treated me to lunch at Hardwicke House (he..he..get free lunch). Christene is one of those friend of mine that was initially a client, then turned to be business friend and later, a good friend. I've known her for 7 years now. I am glad I made someone very happy today........

Class of ' 89

Thanks to Soo Hui, Sharon & Alice we managed to reunite approximately 20 school mates for a reunion on Saturday night at One World Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. For most of us, we have not seen each other for almost 18 years (since form 5) and this reunion is a great platform for all of us to catch up..

Yes, I travelled all the way to KL for this event. Didn't want to in the beginning but after much thoughts, well, what the heck...So, here I was in KL and guess what....Ren Kah too came all the way from Penang. Anyway, no regrets. The trip was well worth it cause I enjoyed myself very much. Also, managed to do some shopping at KL's latest shopping address "The Pavilion"

The whole Sales & Marketing division was invited to Intan's house today for Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Jordon and I went at around 1.00 pm today. There were lot's of people and good food too...managed to get over my craving of ketupat and serunding. Yummy !

Gals Nite Out !!

Another one of our outings but this time it's with Jaclyn a colleague of ours from Shangri -La KL. We went to Chilies for dinner and had the to killer dessert "Molten Chocolate Cake". Hmm.....so sinfull.

Later, we made an spontaneous decision to go to Red Box Karaoke, our favourite de-stressing saloon and sing our hearts out. Dennis came and join us.....as usual we had great fun.

Great nightspot in Samui overlooking the ever famous Chaweng Lake and Beach.....We had Ms Fon our personalised driver sending us there and picking us up later. We had a good time catching up there and managed to play some self invented games with our individual handphone. Funfilled evening !

Baby Olivia Cheong (Part 2)

Last week we (Wendy and me ) went out for dinner with Sharon and of course baby Olivia came with us this time. She has grown so much. The last I saw her was 2 months back and she looks totally different now. Time really flies.

Anyway, she was not totally comfortable when I carry her. A little cranky....but very cute.

I went to SSF in Prai last Wednesday with some of my colleagues to shop for some decorative items for this coming Christmas. Alister our Executive Housekeeper received a birthday voucher from SSF as this is her birthday month. It's a 50% voucher and she has generously gave it to me. Happy !!

I was walking around and immediately this sexy floor lamp stands out amongst the rest. I knew immediately that it's mine and it would fit perfectly with the rest of my apartment's decor. So I got a good bargain for it. 50% off RM688.00.

Goodbyes

Since my last blog on selling my car, if you noticed, I have not been talking about my move to Surabaya at all...that's because it's on hold now due to some reasons ( I won't go into details ). The dates now is indefinate and everthing is put to a halt.

So, I have been feeling "hunkie dorie" for a while until the past 1 week. It strike me again on the last few days spent with Voon Chong, a very close friend of ours before he flew off to Shanghai. He went this morning and everyone went to the airport except me. I couldn't do it. I really hate goodbyes......Everyone cried buckets and I have to admit that I was sad too especially when I spoke to him on the phone before he left.

So, to Wendy, Nanthini, Dennis and Angeline below is something that I wrote this morning and I know you feel the same way too....

Wendy and Michelle ( a long time friend) invited us for dinner at Taipan Fin, Northam Hotel last night. Good catch up session with Michelle cause I have not seen her for a while....food was also splendid. Thanks Gals !!

Movies...

I watched "200 Pounds Beauty" ( A Korean Movie ) last week. The story tells the tale about a large girl that undergoes an extreme makeover to become a pop sensation. It's really funny especially the beginning and the middle part but I thought the ending was a little anti-climax. Love the songs though and the main actor was kind of cool.

However, I think that it is still miles better than a lot of stuff made locally like the one I recently watched "Anak Halal". The Malaysian movie scene really needs improvement. The only ones that I enjoyed were "Sepit", "Gubra" and most of Yasmin Ahmad's movies.

Thankfully our music scene supersedes our movie scene. I sometimes listen to some really good local songs and they are rather awesome........

Who needs spa, therapy and shrink when you can sing your hearts out..... I remember reading an article once saying that singing is apparently very good for de-stress. It has got something to do with our breathing. Since, then I have always been giving myself an excuse to go to Karaoke he...he...
Yesterday was a very stressfull day for me at work. I spontaneously organised a karaoke session with my friends by skype-ing them late in the afternoon. To my surprised everyone said Yes !!. We were in Reb Box by 9.30 pm singing and entertaining ourselselves. A huge stone lifted of my shoulders after that. Why bother explaining to people my "stressfullness". Who cares after the very therapeutic session.......

Collectible Barbies

My favourite....

Barbie Dolls have been the fascination of little girls and their moms alike from day one they were introduced way back in the 50s. I still remember that I had to share mine with my sis Estee when we were small. Probably, through great marketing and I believe so coming from marketing myself that it played a big role for its success today with its wide range of Collectible Barbies that are available everywhere around the world. For both collectors and enthusiasts, finding new and rare Barbie Dolls is a great passion.

I now feel a little of that passion because I was at Voon Chong and Dennis's place at Ratu Mutiara last night and they showed me their collection of toys displayed in glass cabinets. Of course, my favourite is their "Limited Edition Barbie Dolls". They are so fine and pretty. All still in their original packings, never been unwrapped. I finally understand that Collectible Barbie Dolls have that little something extra outstanding clothing, makeup, elaborate hair, facial expression, remarkable gowns and a variety of themes. Amazing........

We spent several hours taking pictures and editing all their Barbie Doll Collection and Nanthini assisted with this picture.

Sharon ( a good friend of mine) gave birth to Baby Olivia on 27 June 2007. When I first held Olivia in the hospital she sort of looked at me with dreamy eyes and went back to sleep. She is so cute and tiny.......

I still remember 3 weeks back, I was so excited for Sharon when she called me that morning and told me that it was time. I waited anxiously the whole day and finally received a call from proud daddy Stanley that Olivia came to this world at approximately 10.00 pm. Sharon was crying and laughing simultaneously on the phone. I guess it was tears of joy. She told me the ordeal she had to go through....labour pain and my heart went all out for her. Tears rolled out from my eys as well. I knew exactly what she had just gone through.

This is a monthly affair for us. Nanthini is normally the main organiser and we have had this sessions consistently since February 07 at my place. Last night was our June's session and we enjoyed ourselves untill the wee.... hours of the morning. Heck, it's Friday night and guess what, most of us are working today. Why ? Cause we're hoteliers.

Most of us won some $$ and poor "chonker" had to pay all. Better luck next time. Till our next session.......
